Odisha Balaram Yojana Online Apply

The Govt of Odisha has recently launched a Balaram Yojana 2024 to provide agricultural credit of Rs 1,040 crore to landless farmers. This agriculture credit amount will help farmers who are facing difficulties due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic outbreak. The decision to launch this scheme was taken at a high-level meeting presided over by chief secretary A K Tripathy on 2 July 2020 and it is designed in collaboration with the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD).

Around seven lakh landless cultivators will get an advantage under the plan in the next two years. All the landless farmers who were unable to get farm credit earlier will now get loans through joint liability groups. This loan amount will act as social collateral for landless farmers. Moreover, the village agriculture workers will implement the Agricultural Credit Program at the field level.

Objectives of the Odisha Balaram Scheme

1. The aim behind the Odisha Balaram Yojana is to provide financial help by issuing loans up to Rs. 1.6 lakh to each JLG of the farmers who are facing problems due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
2. This scheme was structured in a joint effort with the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD).
3. Agricultural experts will implement the program at the field level. Various banks and PACS have about 7000 shares in rural and semi-urban areas.
4. About 70,000 gatherings will receive Ranch advance. Each gathering will consist of five landless rankers, who will get a maximum credit of Rs 1.60 lakh.
5. The state government has focused on giving credit to seven lakh landless ranks in the next two years.
6. Through this scheme, there will be a credit inflow of about Rs 1040 crore in real-level rural practices.
