The Gulmarg Gondola Project is developed by the government of Jammu & Kashmir. Pomagalski- POMA Group of the France company finished this project. The first phase of the ropeway was built in 1998, the system installed in it was a detachable Gondola system running from Gulmarg to Kongdori. The length of this phase is about 2091 meters and it has a capacity of carrying 1500 persons. Total 72 numbers of cabins are installed in it.
