Odisha Free LED Bulb Distribution Scheme 2023 – The Ama Ghare LED scheme has been announced by the Chief Minister of Odisha, Shri Naveen Patnaik on 12 January 2019. In the Ama Ghare LED scheme, the government will distribute 4 LED bulbs of 9 watts under the PEETHA scheme camp from the month of January 2019. Odisha Ama Ghare LED Scheme will cover the beneficiary of the National Food Security Act (NFSA) and State Food Security Scheme (SFSS). This scheme aims to reduce the burden of electricity bills from poor households.

Under the Odisha LED Bulb Distribution Scheme, the government plans to distribute around 3.80 crore free LED bulbs. Under the Ama Ghare LED scheme, bulbs will be distributed to 95 lakh beneficiaries. For this, in the budget for the year 2018-19, the Odisha government has approved a budget of Rs 125 crore. The motive of the state government to start the Ama Ghare scheme is to reduce the electricity bills as well as reduce the burden of electricity bills on the poor family.

Key Features of Ama Ghare Free LED Bulb Distribution Scheme

This Ama Ghare Scheme will be implemented by Odisha Power Transmission Corporation Ltd. Beneficiaries 87 lakh NFSA and 8 lakh SFSS under the LED distribution scheme will cover 95 lakh beneficiaries. The Odisha government has spent a total of Rs 125 crore to implement this scheme in the entire state.

  1. The beneficiary will get 4 LED bulbs of 9 watts.
  2. LED bulbs will be distributed under PEETHA camps.
  3. For this, the beneficiaries have to go to PEETHA awareness camps.
  4. This scheme will not only reduce the electricity expenditure of the house but will also help in the education of the children.

Eligibility Criteria for Free LED Bulb Distribution Yojana

Only those people will get the benefit under this scheme, who will follow the following eligibility criteria.

  • Poor families of the state come under NFSA and SFSS.
  • The beneficiary must be a domicile in the state of Odisha.
  • Applicants should have Aadhaar Card and Mobile Number.
  • Along with this, it is also necessary for the candidate to have a ration card.

How do get Free LED Bulbs under Ama Ghare Scheme?

There is no online and offline mode available to apply under Ama Ghare Free LED Distribution Scheme. Beneficiaries of the National Food Security Act (NFSA) and State Food Security Scheme (SFSS) will get four 9-watt LED bulbs under Ama Ghare Yojana. The process of distribution of LED bulbs will be done under PEETHA camps. PEETHA Awareness Camp is organized between the 15th to 20th of every month.
