Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, Mr. Kiran Rijiju, and MP Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan announced a few days ago that the Khelo India Youth Games 2024 will be organized in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. Khelo India Youth Games 2024

The Khelo India Youth Games are a multi-sport competition hosted every year in India with the goals of fostering a love of sports and giving young athletes a chance to show off their skills. The Games are held with the goal of fostering sports development at the grassroots level by bringing together athletes from all around the country to compete against one another and network with their contemporaries. The games have played a significant role in the development of sports in India by spotting and encouraging future stars.

On January 30, 2024, Khelo India Youth Games (KIYG) will officially go off. In 2024, Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, will host the fifth iteration of a multi-sport competition. The game’s mascot, spectacular flame, and official anthem were all revealed by Madhya Pradesh’s Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan.

Khelo India Youth Games (KIYG 2024) – Key Highlights

There will be 27 events at this year’s Khelo India Youth Games. Water sports have been included in the sports competition for the first time. There are some new games in this edition, like canoeing, kayaking, rowing, and canoe slalom.

Where & How can watch Khelo India Youth Games in 2024?

Starting on January 30, 2024, and continuing through February 11, 2024, will be the Khelo India Youth Games. These sporting events will be shown live on Star Sports Network and Disney+ Hotstar. In order to make the Khelo India Youth Games 2024 more accessible, the Indian Ministry of Sports has also released a smartphone application.

Key Features of Khelo India Youth Games (KIYG)

The Union Ministry of Sports and Youth launched the ‘Khelo India Program’ to promote sports in the country to save the lost culture of our sports.

• It was started in 2018 to start the Khelo India program, to find talented sportspersons from all corners of the country and bring them a platform to showcase their talent.
• Through this program, young players will get a chance to show their skills.
• Out of which talented sportspersons will be identified, they will be provided financial assistance of ₹ 5 lacks for 8 years to further improve their skills and bring the name of the country to the international stage.
• The Khelo India program can be attended by more than 10,000 players from all over the state and union territories of the country.
• Two categories of players can participate in Under-17 and second Under-21, in which students studying in college and university can also participate.

Khelo India Youth Games edition held so far

4 versions of the Khelo India Youth Games have been completed so far. The Khelo India Youth Games started in 2018. Khelo India Youth Games are generally held in January and February.  This Khelo India game was launched by the Honorable Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi on 31 January 2018.

• 1st edition of the Khelo India Youth Game was held in Delhi in 2018, in which a total of 16 games were held and Haryana secured the first position.
• The 2nd edition of the Khelo Bharat Youth Games was held in Pune Maharashtra in 2019, in which a total of 18 games were held and Maharashtra secured the first position.
• 3rd edition of the Khelo India Youth Games was held in Guwahati Assam in 2021 a total of 20 games were held in it and again Maharashtra got the first position.
• 4th edition of the Khelo India Youth Games was held in Panchkula, Haryana in 2022.

In this episode, the 5th edition of the Khelo India Youth Games will be held in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh in 2024. All those players who want to participate in the Khelo India Youth Game (KIYG) will have to wait for the date of the event to be announced.

Khelo India Youth Games 2024 Online Registration

If you want to register yourself for the Khelo India Student Games, then follow the steps given below:

1. First of all, go to the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports official website at https://kheloindia.gov.in/.
2. From the options that appear on the screen for which you want to apply, click on them.
3. Or you can directly click on this link https://nsrs.kheloindia.gov.in/Registration/AthletePI.
4. Then enter all the details in the Registration Form that appears on the screen.
5. Next, upload your recent scanned photo and agree to the terms and conditions.
6. Now click on the ‘Create Profile’ option and another page of the Registration Form will appear.
7. Then fill in the details of education, documents, and bank account in the respective columns, click on “Continue” and now the last page of the registration form will appear on the screen.

Now fill in your personal details and contact information. Submit your details and create a profile. You can log in to your profile with the help of your User Name & Password.

Eligibility Criteria & Required Documents for KIYG 2024

The following are the eligibility criteria for the Bharat Yuva Khel Yojana:

Candidates who are interested in applying for KIYG should be interested in a particular sport.

KIYG has two categories

1. Under 17 (Those under 17 years of age can play in this category)
2. And Under 21 (who are under 21 years of age and over 17 years old can play in this category)
