The Social Welfare Department of Karnataka has decided to provide free laptops for students belonging to the Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) of the state who are pursuing vocational courses. Free Laptop (Bhagya) Yojana 2023 Karnataka

The main objective of the ‘Nishulk Bhagya Laptop Scheme’ is to provide free laptops to the SC/ ST students of the state. This Bhagya Yojana was launched in the year 2017 by the Karnataka Social Welfare Department. So that SC/ ST students should definitely continue their studies by taking advantage of the scheme. As a result, it is expected that students have good-quality laptops. In addition, it will prove beneficial for the students. We hope that the Govt of Karnataka will succeed in this initiative and lakhs of students will get benefit from Laptop Bhagya Yojana.

Under the free laptop scheme, scheduled tribe and scheduled caste students studying in government degree colleges, government engineering colleges, and polytechnics will be eligible. Approx  35 thousand ST and ST students studying across the state will get benefit from this scheme. On the basis of an estimate, Laptops of around Rs 32,000 to Rs 35,000 will be provided to the students.

Govt Providing Free Laptops for Youth 2023

Under the Karnataka Free Laptop Scheme 2023, Bangalore College is running a scheme under which the students of Scheduled Tribes and Scheduled Castes who are doing post-graduation (PG) are provided free laptops to those students and after completing their studies, laptops have to return. But under this free laptop scheme, students will not have to return the laptop even after finishing their studies.

Students of the SC & ST category will definitely benefit from this scheme. Because there are many poor students in the state whose financial condition of the house is not so good that those students can buy laptops. In view of the same thing, the Govt of Karnataka is distributing free laptops to these students, so that all students can study and fulfill their dreams.

Eligibility Conditions for Karnataka Free Laptop Scheme

The Social Welfare Department of Karnataka state has set eligibility criteria for the students to get benefit from this scheme. The details of which are given below:

  • The applicant student must be a native of Karnataka.
  • Students availing the benefit of the Karnataka Free Laptop (Bhagya) Yojana should belong to Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST).
  • To take advantage of this scheme, the student must be in the first year of the course.
  • Under this scheme, students must have taken admitted to any government college in the state.
